Our client is a premier, highly profitable international corporate services and business management group headquartered in Munster, with established operational hubs across Ireland and the UK. Generating multi-million-euro annual revenues through a well-diversified B2B portfolio-encompassing specialised consulting, corporate logistics, compliance etc. The business is poised for accelerated European expansion through active M&A and strategic mergers.
This role represents an exceptional opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader to take ownership of the global finance function, manage M&A integrations, and partner directly with the Founder/Owner and Executive Director on corporate growth and long-term exit planning.
The Opportunity & Strategic Scope
Reporting directly to the Board/Managing Director, the Director of Finance will oversee all financial operations, governance, tax strategy, and growth initiatives across Irish and UK entities, with imminent expansion into continental Europe.
- Growth & M&A Strategy: Lead financial due diligence, deal modelling, and integration for upcoming mergers and acquisitions (including an impending merger with a European group.
- EBITDA & Commercial Optimization: Act as a commercial guardian of profitability, continuously analysing revenue channels-specifically high-margin streams to drive EBITDA growth.
- Executive Advisory & Presence: Serve as a trusted strategic partner and sounding board to the Owner/Managing Director, providing constructive challenge, strategic insight, and high-level decision support.
- Finance Function Leadership: Direct a close-knit, dedicated finance team (Finance Manager, AP, AR, Invoicing/Admin) overseeing a combined workforce of ~60 internal employees and an international network of sub-contractors.
- Systems & Digital Automation: Optimize and leverage modern, cloud-based ERP infrastructure (AIQ) to support multi-entity integration, automated reporting, and seamless international scaling.
- Tax & Corporate Governance: Maintain Cork as the primary global hub for international group tax efficiency, statutory reporting, and treasury management.
Candidate Profile & Criteria
We are seeking an ambitious, high-caliber Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) who combines strong technical control with strategic commercial acumen.
Key Requirements:
- Professional Qualification: Fully qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience (open to dynamic candidates with 10+ years PQE, or more seasoned commercial finance leaders).
- M&A & Growth Exposure: Proven track record or strong capability in transactional growth, business integrations, due diligence, and multi-entity consolidation.
- Executive Presence & Gravitas: High level of commercial confidence with the ability to challenge senior stakeholders, influence strategic decisions, and articulate financial performance to private business owners.
- Tech-Savvy Mindset: Experience working with modern ERP solutions (experience with AIQ or similar platforms advantageous) and driving process automation.
- Multi-Jurisdictional Awareness: Understanding of Irish and UK tax structures, statutory governance, and multi-currency operations.
