Location: East Cork (100% On-Site, 5 Days per Week)

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven Senior Credit Controller to join our growing business based in East Cork. Working on-site 5 days a week, you will take full ownership of the credit control function across a portfolio of key accounts while providing direct leadership, guidance, and support to the credit team.
In this dual-action role, you will lead from the front-managing the collection of existing and legacy overdue receivables, resolving complex queries, and optimising overall cash flow. You will act as the bridge between credit control, sales teams, depot managers, and senior leadership to drive continuous process improvements and minimise commercial risk.
Doubtful & Legacy Debts: Proactively chase and recover overdue accounts (both commercial and domestic), with a strong focus on re-engaging inactive or unresponsive debtors.
Account & Order Management: Oversee the sales order credit release procedures across all sites, balancing commercial opportunities with cash risk.
Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with key, high-value commercial accounts to facilitate smooth, timely payments.
Query Resolution: Log, track, and resolve complex account and billing queries in collaboration with internal sales personnel and regional depots.
Reporting & Audits: Prepare accurate monthly financial reports and insights for management and depot leads. Provide support for internal and external audit requirements.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a Credit Control role, with demonstrated experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team.
Education: Qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable.
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, credit risk assessment, and best practices in debt recovery.
Communication: Exceptional negotiation, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills-able to hold firm with debtors while maintaining strong relationships with internal sales teams and customers.
Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP/accounting software and the Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred). Strong track record in accurate data analysis and record-keeping.
Work Arrangement: Willingness and ability to work on-site 5 days per week in East Cork.
