BI Support Engineer

My client is looking for a BI Support Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join their organisation in Cork. This is a permanent role.

Key Skills and Experience

• 3-5 years' experience delivering Power BI solutions, with strong capability in DAX, Power Query and data modelling
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling
• Proficiency in SQL for data preparation, validation and optimisation
• Experience building intuitive, high-quality dashboards with a strong focus on UX and performance
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, version control (e.g. Git) and structured testing approaches
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business insights

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports and semantic data models
• Triage, prioritise and resolve BAU issues and enhancement requests within agreed SLAs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define acceptance criteria and deliver effective BI solutions
• Support data preparation activities, including writing SQL, validating data quality and optimising queries
• Contribute to testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of BI processes and best practices
• Provide operational support to senior team members, helping to reduce backlog and improve delivery efficiency
