Temporary Legal Secretary - Litigation

The Opportunity
A well-established and nationally respected law firm with a strong reputation and loyal client base is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join its Litigation Department on a temporary basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a highly regarded legal practice and work alongside an experienced and professional team in its Ennis office.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide administrative and secretarial support to the Litigation team. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Audio typing and transcription.
- Managing and controlling correspondence.
- Supporting fee earners with client calls and scheduling appointments.
- Scanning, filing and processing post.
- Maintaining solicitors' diaries and follow-up systems.
- Assisting with billing, requisitioning and recording time.
- Dealing with telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner.
- Providing occasional reception cover.
- Responding to communications and queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Undertaking other appropriate duties as assigned by the relevant Partner/Solicitor.
- Supporting with other duties that may arise within a general legal practice.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Ideally 3+ years' experience in a similar Legal Secretary role, although candidates with less experience will be considered where relevant.
- A minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute.
- Strong IT and systems skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A strong work ethic and professional demeanour.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- A high level of attention to detail, particularly when reviewing documents and correspondence.
- The ability to work collaboratively while also being proactive, self-motivated and able to use initiative.
Desirable
- Previous experience using the Practice Evolve case management system.
- Previous experience within a Litigation Department or general legal practice.
