Compliance Officer

A very interesting opportunity has arisen at a Global Investment Management Corporation. They are looking for a Compliance Officer to join them on a 6 month assignment.

Duties:

-Supporting the Investments and Trading Compliance team in providing qualitative compliance advice to the Alternatives, Fundamental Equity and Capital Markets businesses ensuring that regulatory issues are properly dealt with or escalated appropriately;

-Representing Compliance throughout the Product Development process of Alternatives products, including review of fund documentation and provision of regulatory advice as it relates to conflicts of interest, risk factors and legal structure considerations;

-Provision of timely advice in respect of MAR and inside information;

-Partnering with Legal and the Investment teams to provide regulatory advice and support on transactional matters;

-Drafting and maintenance of policies and procedures;

-Active participation in Compliance or business-driven projects, including regulatory developments and strategic initiatives;

-Contributing to the creation of management reporting and communication on Compliance matters to senior management, corporate boards, the businesses' stakeholders and Oversight Committees;

-Designing and delivering effective regulatory training initiatives to the business.

Skills:

-Preferable if the individual has worked in a role supporting investment teams operating within both the public and private markets.

-Ability to influence a highly-performing internal client base by delivering timely, credible, accurate and value-added advice.

-Able to consistently demonstrate high standards of professional accuracy and excellent attention to detail.

-Self-motivation, the ability to work autonomously and high energy levels.

-Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise workloads, progress multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.

-Ability to collaborate effectively both within the team and across functions.

-High degree of familiarity with regulatory environment and a genuine desire to continually develop such knowledge.

-At least five years' experience within a control function within the asset management industry or Investment bank within Compliance or Legal.
