We are working with a growing Retail SaaS provider based in Hull, who are looking to hire an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support the delivery of digital products and client-facing solutions across retail and FMCG customers.

This is a permanent role with hybrid working, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site in the Hull office.

The Role

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will act as a key bridge between clients, product, engineering, and delivery teams. You will work closely with retail and FMCG customers to understand their business needs and translate them into clear, technical requirements that drive scalable SaaS solutions.

You'll be involved across the full delivery lifecycle, from discovery and requirements gathering through to implementation, testing, and release.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with retail/FMCG clients to gather, analyse, and document business and technical requirements

• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions

• Translate business needs into user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, and acceptance criteria

• Collaborate with engineering, product, UX, and QA teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered

• Support backlog management, prioritisation, and refinement

• Act as a subject matter expert during delivery, UAT, and go-live phases

• Identify process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement of BA and delivery practices

• Ensure solutions align with client needs, technical constraints, and product strategy

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a Business Analyst role, ideally within SaaS, digital consulting, or technology-led environments

• Strong client-facing experience, ideally within retail and/or FMCG sectors

• Comfortable working on technical and digital platforms (APIs, integrations, cloud-based systems, data flows, etc.)

• Strong documentation skills (user stories, process flows, wireframes, specs)

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• Ability to work on-site in Hull 2-3 days per week

Desirable

• Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment

• Exposure to retail systems such as POS, ERP, supply chain, promotions, pricing, or e-commerce platforms

• Jira, Confluence, or similar tooling experience
