Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute highly complex engineering projects that integrate electrical, mechanical, physics, algorithms, and software design-projects that often push the boundaries of system capabilities and innovation.
- Drive the research and development of emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with Marketing and Product Management to validate that market requirement specifications (MRS) are achievable and relevant.
- Apply systems analysis to develop diagrams and documentation that inform and influence hardware and software engineering teams, promoting the adoption of systems engineering methodologies in new and ongoing designs.
- Collaborate across business units to address system architecture and integration challenges, sharing and adopting best practices and concepts organization-wide.
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex engineering problems, often at the cutting edge of technology and system functionality.
- Review test outcomes and provide critical feedback on system architecture design; influence product direction by proposing necessary design changes.
- Support the system integration process during assembly and final testing phases of new product designs.
- Partner with external vendors to co-develop competitive, high-performance components; incorporate strategic business needs and architecture insights into vendor collaborations.
- Develop and track metrics that support strategic decision-making and future business opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to systems architecture development standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing automated manufacturing systems in high-volume, high-mix production environments.
- Track record in Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, Manufacturing Automation and Factory Integration projects is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate with global, cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in solving highly complex engineering problems using innovative, forward-thinking approaches.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to align technological development with broader business objectives.
