An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a growing organisation based in Waterford.
Working as part of an established and experienced payroll team, you will support the delivery of accurate and timely weekly and monthly payrolls within a busy, fast-paced environment. This is a varied role offering exposure to payroll processing, reporting, compliance, employee queries and ongoing process improvements.
The successful candidate will be highly organised and detail-focused, with strong payroll knowledge and the ability to work accurately with high volumes of data while meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process weekly payroll for 1,300+ employees.
- Support monthly payroll processing and associated reporting.
- Download, review and import timesheets from the time and attendance system.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including new starters, leavers and employee changes.
- Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses and statutory deductions.
- Ensure compliance with Revenue requirements, PAYE, PRSI, pensions and relevant employment legislation.
- Carry out payroll validation and reconciliation checks to ensure accuracy.
- Respond to employee and stakeholder payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.
- Liaise closely with HR and Finance to ensure employee and payroll data is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain confidential payroll records and employee documentation.
- Provide payroll reports and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Assist with the ongoing development and improvement of payroll processes, systems and controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency and overall processes.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' payroll experience in a similar role.
- IPASS qualification or equivalent is required.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, Revenue requirements and statutory compliance.
- Experience using payroll systems such as Sage, COINS or similar, together with time and attendance systems.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of payroll data.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and consistently meet payroll deadlines.
- Strong communication skills with a professional approach to handling employee queries.
- Proactive, flexible and collaborative approach to working as part of a team.
