Yen Rates Sales VP to Director - Lead Client Coverage in Tokyo

A large international investment bank is seeking an experienced Yen Rates Sales professional to join its Tokyo office as VP to Director. In this role, you will lead sales activities across Japanese central financial institutions, focusing on JGB and swap products. This is an excellent opportunity for an established market professional to expand client relationships and drive business growth within one of the world's top financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop client relationships with major Japanese central financial institutions.
• Execute and expand sales of Yen Rates products, including Japanese Government Bonds (JGBs) and interest rate swaps.
• Collaborate closely with trading, structuring, and research teams to deliver tailored client solutions.
• Provide market insights, product updates, and execution support to institutional clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, regulations, and macroeconomic factors affecting the Yen rates market.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of Yen Rates sales experience within an investment bank based in Japan.
• Proven record of building and maintaining institutional client relationships.

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of fixed income products, especially JGBs and swaps.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Native-level fluency in written and spoken communication.
• English: Business-level proficiency for internal coordination and client interaction.

Soft Skills:

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills under high-pressure environments.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience leading client coverage or mentoring junior sales members.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting the Yen market.
• Network of established institutional clients across Japan.
