Yen Rates Sales (Associate-VP) Tokyo - Global Investment Bank

A top-tier global investment bank is seeking an experienced Yen Rates Sales professional to join its Global Markets team in Tokyo. This is a high-impact front-office role focused on delivering rates solutions to major Japanese and international financial institutions, offering strong career growth at Associate to VP level in a world-class trading and sales environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive sales of Yen Rates products, with a focus on JGB and Interest Rate Swaps.
• Manage and grow relationships with Japanese and international financial institution clients.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders across Global Markets to deliver tailored client solutions.
• Identify market opportunities and execute sales strategies to grow flow and revenue.
• Provide timely market insights and product expertise to support client decision-making.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of Yen Rates Sales experience within an investment bank in Japan
• Proven expertise in Yen Rates products, especially JGB and swaps
• Experience covering Japanese and/or international financial institutions
• Suitable for Associate to VP level candidates

Soft Skills:

• Strong relationship-building and client management capability
• Commercial mindset with the ability to perform in a high-paced front-office environment
• Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive, results-driven approach with high ownership

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Native (written and spoken)
• English: Intermediate to Business level

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Established client network within Japanese or global institutional accounts
• Strong understanding of macro trends and Japan rates market dynamics
• Experience working in a global matrix organization
