DBA (Contract)

Join a tech monolith as a Database Engineer in Tokyo. Leverage your expertise to enhance high-availability, performance, and scalability. MUST RESIDE IN JAPAN.

Roles/Responsibilities

• Identify and implement performance enhancements in SQL operations and database systems.
• Oversee production and staging environment databases to ensure optimal operation.
• Work with product teams to develop and improve data warehousing solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and DBA teams to create and maintain disaster recovery plans.
• Perform technical troubleshooting and resolve database-related issues.
• Automate database deployment and configuration management.
• Ensure high availability, clustering, security, and scalability of database systems.

Required skills

• Skills in automating deployment and configuration management for DB infra
• Knowledge in scripting and development using Shell Scripting and Python programming
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix

Preferred skills

• Experience in designs, builds, maintains database system (in both rational and non-rational DBs)
• Knowledge in implementing robust backup and recovery procedures
