As a Senior Data Manager, you will partner closely with the global Data Office and cross-functional stakeholders to establish best-in-class data governance frameworks, improve data quality, and build scalable data platforms. Your work will directly support faster diagnosis, improved patient outcomes, and the development of life-changing therapies for patients with rare diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise data governance and data quality management frameworks in collaboration with the global Data Office.
- Develop and maintain data standards, metadata management processes, and enterprise data dictionaries in compliance with global standards and data privacy regulations.
- Oversee the design, management, and enhancement of data lakes, data marts, and enterprise data platforms to ensure scalability, reliability, and accessibility.
- Utilize Power BI and other analytics tools to monitor data quality, generate reports, and provide actionable insights into governance performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data accuracy, consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Partner with business stakeholders and data owners to gather requirements, establish data governance policies, and promote data literacy across the organization.
- Support the implementation of automation and modern operating models to improve enterprise data management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Extensive experience in data governance, data quality management, data standardization, metadata management, and enterprise data dictionary management.
- Hands-on experience designing and managing data lakes, data marts, ETL processes, and cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Proven experience using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools for reporting, monitoring, and analytics.
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- 6+ years of relevant professional experience preferred.
Soft Skills:
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to establish and drive enterprise data governance initiatives.
- Experience leading organizational change and promoting data-driven culture.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent.
- English: Business-level proficiency.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience implementing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks within highly regulated industries.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare data environments.
- Experience improving data literacy and implementing data governance training programs.
- Familiarity with global compliance standards, including data privacy regulations.
