    This is a rare opportunity to join a leading global consulting firm as an Actuarial Consultant (Manager level or above), supporting major life insurance, non-life insurance, and pension clients in Japan.

    Through advanced actuarial modelling and risk analytics, you will directly influence executive-level decision-making and contribute to high-impact transformation projects. You will gain exposure to both audit and advisory work, including IFRS implementation, ERM, ALM, economic value assessment, embedded value evaluation, and M&A due diligence.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support insurance and pension clients by solving management challenges through actuarial modelling, accounting, and risk analysis.
    • Conduct actuarial audit and review work related to insurance liabilities, reserves, and technical provisions.
    • Support the enhancement and implementation of advanced frameworks such as ERM, ALM, and internal models.
    • Provide advisory services on IFRS, economic value-based solvency assessment, and embedded value (EV) evaluation.
    • Support M&A and cross-border transactions through due diligence and valuation analysis.
    • Deliver strategic recommendations using pricing, profitability analysis, and data analytics.
    • Collaborate with global experts to introduce best practices and share knowledge across international teams.

    Required Skills and Qualifications

    Experience:
    • Experience in actuarial, financial reporting, or product-related work at an insurance company, audit firm, or actuarial consulting firm.
    • Expertise in one or more of the following: actuarial science, probability/statistics, financial engineering, or financial modelling.
    • Practical experience in risk management, ALM, or financial planning functions.
    • Proven experience building models and using data analytics to translate insights into business recommendations.
    • Experience driving projects or leading teams in a consulting or corporate environment.
    Soft Skills:
    • Ability to explain complex actuarial concepts clearly from a business and management perspective.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust with senior client stakeholders.
    • Logical and structured thinking to identify root causes and deliver actionable solutions.
    • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse experts and cross-functional teams.
    • High motivation to learn and proactively take on new challenges in a fast-evolving environment.
    Language Requirements:
    • Japanese: Native level
    • English: Intermediate to Business level

    Preferred Skills & Qualifications

    • Membership in the Institute of Actuaries of Japan (Associate or Fellow), or pension actuary certification.
    • Practical experience with IFRS, ERM, internal models, or embedded value (EV) assessment.
    • Experience supporting M&A and cross-border projects.
    • Advanced modelling and analytics skills using Python or R.
    • Strong business-level English communication ability.
