One of Ireland's largest legal firms are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join their team on a contract basis. This role provides the opportunity to work with exceptional people and a broad range of high calibre domestic and international clients.
As a senior member of the finance management team, you will be leading a team of four direct reports and liaising closely with other senior management and partners.
This is a contract role for 12-15 months working on a hybrid basis in the Dublin office. About the role
Financial Reporting
- Maintaining the integrity of financial information in compliance with relevant legislation and internal accounting policies
- Coordinating and overseeing the month end accounts
- Managing the preparation of monthly management accounts to strict reporting deadlines
- Ongoing development of the month-end close process to drive efficiencies and meet the changing needs of the business
- Leading the preparation of the annual budgeting process
- Coordinating and managing the completion of year end accounts
- Attending monthly meetings with the Finance Director to discuss financial performance of the firm and highlight key issues
- Attending ad hoc meetings with Heads of Departments across the firm and the Managing Partner to discuss departmental financial performance
- Business partnering with Heads of Business Services Departments to review their costs against budget and reviewing financial information to help inform promotions processes
- Coordinating and managing the year end Statutory Audit;
- Overseeing the implementation of audit recommendations and monitoring the ongoing compliance with these and other controls;
Team Management
- Managing and developing the Financial Reporting team - one Finance Manager and three trainee accountants;
- Reviewing work carried out by the Financial Reporting team; and
- Providing regular feedback and performance
About the person
- ACA or ACCA Qualified with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role;
- Ability to communicate appropriately with finance colleagues and internal stakeholders;
- You can recognise limitations and seek assistance and advice where necessary;
- You have strong analytical skills with the ability to research, understand and resolve a wide range of finance issues;
- You have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities, with a determination to achieve specific goals.
