Current Account Product Manager
My client is seeking a commercially focused and customer-centric Current Account Product Manager to support the ongoing development and growth of the current account proposition. This role will play a key part in shaping product strategy, delivering strong commercial outcomes, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience across the product lifecycle.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including Payments, Digital, CX, Technology, Analytics, Finance, and Marketing to continuously enhance the proposition while balancing customer needs, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Product Management
- Drive profitable balance sheet growth through product, pricing, proposition, and promotional initiatives.
- Closely manage portfolio performance against financial plan targets and identify opportunities to improve commercial outcomes.
- Analyse product performance data and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Develop a strong understanding of key performance drivers and implement strategies to address gaps to plan.
Proposition Ownership & Development
- Own and evolve the Customer Value Proposition for Current Accounts.
- Lead the design, enhancement, and ongoing development of the current account product offering.
- Conduct market, competitor, and customer analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with Payments and Debit Product Owners to ensure a compelling and aligned customer proposition.
- Act as Product and Proposition Lead within cross-functional change and delivery teams to optimise commercial and customer outcomes.
Product Ownership
- Maintain ownership of all product collateral, configurations, and documentation.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for end-to-end customer journeys and product deliverables.
- Partner with Marketing, Customer Experience, Digital, Technology, Analytics, and Finance teams to deliver balanced and customer-focused solutions.
- Manage and oversee any product-related risk issues, ensuring appropriate governance and controls are maintained.
Backlog & Change Management
- Own and prioritise the backlog for product, pricing, and proposition enhancements.
- Work closely with CX and Digital teams to support and implement customer-focused improvements.
- Define detailed business requirements for product changes and enhancements.
- Collaborate with Change, Technology, and Testing teams to ensure successful delivery and implementation of initiatives.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across multiple teams and locations.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within cross-functional environments.
- Commercial mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working within a high-growth or rapidly evolving business environment is advantageous.
- Previous experience with regulated financial products and propositions is preferred.
- Experience with liability banking products or current account products would be highly beneficial from any of the Irish pillar banks
- Ability to balance customer experience, regulatory requirements, and commercial objectives.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously.
