Morgan McKinley are partnering with a not-for-profit organisation on a Finance Manager position. This is a relatively new organisation with ambitious plans for Ireland's future.
Hybrid working structure (3 days in office) based in Dublin West.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Manager is responsible for the delivery of accurate financial reporting, execution of strong financial controls, and ownership of core finance processes across the organisation and a strong emphasis on transformation projects.
This role operates at a senior level within the finance function, taking responsibility for the end-to-end execution of month-end close, balance sheet integrity, and audit readiness, while working closely with the Financial Controller / Head of Finance who retains overall accountability and sign-off.
Requirements:
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA Qualified
- Post Qualified Experience (5-7 years)
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards
- Advanced Excel skills
- Understanding of tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Own and deliver monthly management accounts to agreed deadlines
- Perform detailed variance analysis v prior periods & assist FP&A with variances to budget
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data
- Own delivery of the month-end close process
- Prepare and review all key journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Own balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all items are complete and supported
- Ensure timely resolution of reconciling items and issues
- Maintain strong oversight of ledger cleanliness and accuracy
Statutory Compliance & Audit
- Support preparation of statutory accounts (IFRS / local GAAP)
- Act as primary contact for auditors for assigned areas
- Lead preparation of audit files, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Respond to audit queries and drive resolution of issues
- Support implementation of audit recommendations
Systems & Process Improvement
- Assist with maintaining financial systems and ensure accurate data entry and ensure financial risks are mitigated
- Identify & Implement changes required to process workflows & control effectiveness
- Have a continuous improvement mindset for workflows within their scope
Transformation Projects
- Be a strong leader for Finance Transformation
- Support implementation or upgrades of finance systems.
- Assist with Cross departmental projects when required
Team Support & Oversight
- Provide review and oversight of work completed by junior finance staff
- Support training, coaching, and development of team members
- Assist in task allocation and workload management
- Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
