Morgan McKinley is partnering with a key client in the logistics industry to recruit an experienced Customs Officer. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced operational environment, supporting high-volume import and export activities while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
This role is full time on site initially with an opportunity for hybrid working on completion of the probationary period.
The Role
Reporting to the Customs Manager, the Customs Officer will be responsible for delivering an efficient and compliant customs clearance service, working closely with internal operations teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless customs processing.
Key Responsibilities

Provide an efficient and effective customs clearance service in line with Revenue and company compliance standards

Ensure all customs declarations and data submissions are accurate, complete, and compliant

Produce customer metrics and reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis

Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all customs-related transactions

Communicate daily with operations teams to support end-to-end clearance processes

Liaise with internal and external customers to resolve customs-related queries in a timely manner

Create and discharge T1 documents as required

Support business development initiatives and undertake additional duties as directed by the Customs Manager
Skills & Experience Required

Minimum 3 years' experience in a Customs Officer, Import/Export, or similar role

Strong experience in import and export customs clearances

Proven experience creating and discharging T1 documents

Strong knowledge of commodity classification

Minimum 2 years' experience using Thyme IT software

Experience with Customforce / Customware systems (desirable)

Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure

Strong PC literacy and administrative skills
