Accounts Payable Assistant

Morgan McKinley is delighted to be partnering with an innovative and growing organisation to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant on an initial 3-month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to provide key support to the Finance team during an important period, helping to maintain smooth financial operations and ensure continuity across accounts processes.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll activities, and general finance administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Accounts Payable inbox, responding to supplier queries and coordinating requests.
- Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate matching against approved purchase orders.
- Maintain purchase order records and ensure documentation is complete and up to date.
- Support supplier payment runs, including preparation of payment schedules and supporting documentation.
- Assist with accounts receivable activities and general finance administration.
- Support payroll processing activities as part of the wider finance function.
- Assist with supplier statement reconciliations and month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the Finance team with reporting requirements and maintain accurate financial records.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and approval procedures.
About You
- Previous experience within Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, finance administration, or bookkeeping.
- Experience supporting payroll processes is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using cloud-based accounting software systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive and team-oriented approach.
