About the Role
Morgan McKinley is delighted to partner with a well-established and market-leading commercial business based in Cork to recruit a Financial Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified or experienced accountant looking to take ownership of a busy finance function within a dynamic, fast-paced trading environment.
Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day financial operations, driving month-end processes, and providing key insights to support commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and key performance indicator (KPI) reports for the senior leadership team.

Balance Sheet Management: Conduct full balance sheet reconciliations, managing high-volume stock/inventory valuations, rebates, and supplier controls.

Cash Flow & Treasury: Monitor daily cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and oversee working capital.

Compliance & Tax: Prepare and submit relevant statutory and revenue returns (VAT, relevant sector levies, etc.).

Audit & Year-End: Coordinate the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.

Process Improvement: Continuously review and streamline internal financial controls and systems to improve efficiency across the operations.
Requirements & Qualifications

Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA qualified (open to newly qualified candidates straight from practice or industry).

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in MS Excel is essential. Experience with large-scale ERP or integrated inventory management systems is a distinct advantage.

Attributes: High attention to detail, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to communicate effectively with non-financial operational managers.
