Role Overview
Our client is a market logistics and distribution company who are looking to add an accounting team lead to their team. This role will be supporting the financial operations of the organisation, with a key focus on managing the day to day controls of revenue, direct costs, and ensuring accurate financial reporting while maintaining strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the financial performance of an assigned business area, including revenue and direct cost control.
- Monitor and analyse profitability, identifying financial risks and opportunities.
- Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Support month-end close and financial reporting processes.
- Process and oversee accounts payable activities.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within ERP or finance systems.
- Collaborate with operational and business teams to ensure accurate cost and revenue allocation.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, procedures, and controls.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing supporting documentation as required.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong organisational skills with good commercial awareness.
- Experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.
- Experience using ERP or financial management systems is desirable.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively within a team.
