This is a practical, hands-on administrative role within a busy manufacturing environment, supporting engineering, operations, purchasing, and logistics teams. The position plays a key part in keeping day-to-day operations running efficiently by coordinating documentation, supporting production-related processes, and ensuring information flows smoothly across departments.
You'll act as a central support function for operational teams - tracking paperwork, following up on orders and deliveries, liaising with suppliers and freight partners, and helping resolve issues that could impact production or dispatch schedules.
This role suits someone who enjoys being close to operations, understands how manufacturing or engineering environments work, and prefers a role with variety, responsibility, and clear purpose.
Provide administrative support to Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and Logistics teams.
Prepare, manage, and issue technical and commercial documentation to customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Support purchasing and supply chain activities, including order tracking and supplier follow-up.
Assist with logistics and freight coordination, including booking transport and managing shipping and customs documentation.
Proactively chase updates and resolve documentation or shipment issues to avoid production or delivery delays.
Investigate and follow up on operational queries such as order discrepancies, missing paperwork, or delivery issues.
Support day-to-day operational activities by ensuring systems, records, and files are accurate and up to date.
Coordinate practical office requirements such as travel bookings, site visits, and general operational support tasks.
Act as a reliable point of contact for multiple teams in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
Previous experience in an administrative role within manufacturing, engineering, construction, or a technical environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Comfortable working closely with operational teams and supporting practical, process-driven work.
Clear communicator with strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
