We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner to join a fast-growing organisation within the chemical manufacturing sector. This contract role will focus on delivering efficiencies in materials procurement while ensuring continuity of supply to meet production and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
Manage supplier relationships, negotiate commercial agreements, and monitor market trends
Ensure continuity of raw materials and resolve supply or scheduling issues
Lead cost-saving initiatives and manage direct material spend
Develop and implement sourcing strategies
Collaborate cross-functionally to support production, projects, and customer requirements
Monitor KPIs, budgets, and purchasing compliance
Analyse inventory levels to minimise excess stock and cost exposure
About You
Proven purchasing experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment (chemical/pharma preferred)
Strong negotiation, analytical, and organisational skills
Experience with MRP/ERP systems and MS Office
Relevant degree and/or professional certification (CIPS, CPM, IIPMM desirable)
Strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Right to work in the EU required
