Transport Planner
A well-established transport and logistics company operating a modern fleet across national and international routes is seeking a Transport Planner to join its operations team. The business works across multiple sectors including manufacturing, engineering, construction, agriculture, and retail, delivering efficient transport solutions and high levels of customer service.
Key Result Areas
Management of The Pallet Network (TPN)
- Daily management of TPN operational procedures
- Interface with customers regarding collections and deliveries; respond promptly to queries
- Plan daily collections and allocate work to maximise efficiency
- Act as primary point of contact for other TPN depots
- Plan daily delivery schedules to ensure optimal fleet utilisation
Transport Planning - Full Loads / Continental Loads
- Support planning of import and export loads
- Manage all aspects of import/export operations including ferry bookings, road tax, and compliance requirements
- Utilise tracking systems to ensure deliveries and collections remain on schedule
- Communicate effectively with drivers and customers
- Manage customs requirements relating to import, export, and transit movements
Finance / Customer Documentation
- Maintain and manage customer data
- Control transport documentation including CMRs and PODs
- Manage specific customer documentation and compliance requirements
Management of Information Systems
- Become a Super User of the Transport Management System (TMS)
- Manage online customer portals
- Support pricing activities and setup of rate cards
Other Duties
- Perform additional duties as required as the role and business needs evolve
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Primary degree or equivalent experience in planning, finance, operations, or a complex administrative role
- Strong IT competency
- Proven organisational skills
- Previous customer service experience

- Experience within the transport or logistics industry
- Customs knowledge or experience
- Understanding of operational and logistical processes
- Financial skills including pricing and financial analysis
- Experience using transport management or finance systems
