    We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer for a high-impact, 6 month contract with a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry based in North Wicklow.

    As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be the driving force behind Manufacturing Control Systems and Operational Technology, ensuring maximum uptime and leading critical digital transformation projects.

    This is a fast-paced environment where you will manage vendor relationships, oversee system infrastructure (Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi), and ensure strict GxP/21 CFR Part 11 compliance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • System Optimization: Oversee automation systems to ensure peak performance and uptime.
    • Project Delivery: Execute small-to-medium scale automation projects, managing costs, schedules, and technical goals.
    • Compliance & Quality: Maintain engineering deliverables and test scripts in line with GAMP and site Quality Systems.
    • Technical Support: Manage user access, backups, and restores; implement corrective actions with vendor support.
    • Innovation: Contribute to the site's innovation roadmap and standardizing global automation processes.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Engineering (Automation, Robotics, or Computer Science).
    • 5+ years of experience within a GMP/Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
    • Deep proficiency in PLC/Automation solutions (e.g., Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi).
    • Strong knowledge of industry standards: GAMP, ANSI/ISA-99/100, 21 CFR Part 11, and Annex 11.
    • Proven ability to work under pressure and hit the ground running in a contract capacity.
