Senior Process Development & Commercialisation Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Process Development & Commercialisation Manager to join a leading global manufacturing and innovation operation based in Wexford.
This is a highly technical role sitting within the Technical function, with responsibility for process development, pilot plant operations, scale-up and the commercialisation of new products and processes.
You will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, engineering, quality and global technical teams to take new products and technologies from laboratory and pilot scale through to successful commercial manufacture.
As the technical SME for process technology and development, you will:
Lead the development, testing and scale-up of new products and manufacturing processes.
Design and execute experiments using laboratory, pilot and commercial-scale equipment.
Develop and implement scale-up and technology transfer strategies for new products and processes.
Develop validation plans to ensure new processes are safe, sustainable, robust and commercially viable.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing manufacturing processes.
Identify opportunities to improve quality, yield, productivity and process efficiency.
Analyse process and laboratory data to assess product and process performance.
Work closely with R&D and manufacturing teams to transfer new technologies into commercial production.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to process engineering and manufacturing colleagues.
Investigate process deviations and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Maintain a strong understanding of emerging process technologies and scientific developments.
Support contingency planning and technical projects across the wider manufacturing network.
Ensure compliance with relevant GMP, food safety, environmental, quality and safety standards.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, R&D teams, suppliers and external technical partners.
We are looking for an experienced Chemical/Process Engineer or Scientist with a strong background in process development and scale-up.
You will ideally have:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
5+ years' relevant industrial experience, including experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, flavour & fragrance, food ingredients or a similar process environment.
Strong experience in process development, pilot plant operations and commercial scale-up.
Practical knowledge of processes such as distillation, liquid-liquid extraction, chromatography or membrane filtration.
Experience working with solvents, flammable liquids and two-phase processing.
Strong understanding of organic chemistry and analytical techniques, ideally including GC/GCMS and HPLC.
Experience developing, modifying and troubleshooting pilot or commercial process equipment.
An understanding of instrumentation, process control and automation would be advantageous.
Experience working within regulated manufacturing environments and knowledge of quality, food safety, ISO/FSSC or FDA standards would be beneficial.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex scientific and process data.
Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to work effectively across R&D, manufacturing, engineering, quality and corporate teams.
A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process and productivity improvement.
A PhD or postgraduate qualification in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline would be advantageous.
