    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a leading life sciences organisation on an initial 6 month contract. The role will work closely with the wider finance team, supporting accurate month-end reporting, financial analysis, and continuous improvement across finance operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage day-to-day finance operations including banking, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities.
    • Support the month-end close process, ensuring all general ledger and sub-ledger postings are completed accurately and on time.
    • Prepare monthly management accounts including profit & loss accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting financial analysis.
    • Perform margin and variance analysis, providing clear commentary and actionable insights to management.
    • Produce regular financial reports, KPI reporting, and business performance analytics.
    • Work closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure accuracy of financial data and reporting.
    • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
    • Support external audit processes and respond to audit queries in a timely manner.
    • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of financial controls, systems, and reporting processes.
    • Assist with cash flow reporting, payroll support, and other ad hoc finance projects as required.

    Key Requirements:

    • Newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent) with minimum 2+ years' relevant experience.
    • Strong financial accounting and month-end reporting experience.
    • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; PowerPoint experience advantageous.
    • Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
    • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
