Automation Engineer - Permanent Role (Co. Tipperary)
A growing pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Co. Tipperary is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support ongoing expansion, new product introductions, and continuous improvement projects. Key Responsibilities:
Support automation systems across manufacturing, packaging and utilities areas.
Develop, modify and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA and HMI systems (Allen Bradley environment).
Provide automation input to equipment upgrades, process improvements and NPI projects.
Lead and participate in FAT/SAT, commissioning, validation and change control activities.
Work collaboratively with Engineering, QA, Maintenance and Operations to resolve issues and optimise equipment performance.
Ensure all automation systems comply with GAMP5, GMP and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
Support investigations, deviations and audit activities when required.
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering, Automation, Controls, Mechatronics or related discipline.
Strong experience with Allen Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000 / FactoryTalk).
Background in pharma, medical device or regulated manufacturing automation.
Experience with SCADA/HMI systems, networks and control system architecture.
Familiarity with validation documentation (URS, FDS, IQ/OQ/PQ).
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation capabilities.
