A long-established and trusted retailer specialising in power tools, hardware and DIY products in Limerick City is currently recruiting an experienced Sales Person to join its friendly and knowledgeable team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with retail, trade counter or sales experience to build a long-term career in a specialist hardware, tools and trade supply environment, with full training provided.
About the Role
This is a hands-on retail and trade counter sales role, supporting both trade customers and the general public. The successful candidate will work with power tools, hardware, machinery, fixings and DIY products, helping customers select the right products for their projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving customers at the trade counter and retail counter
- Advising customers on power tools, hand tools, hardware, fixings and DIY equipment
- Processing sales, including cash, card and account transactions
- Managing trade counter enquiries in person, by phone and by email
- Maintaining a clean, organised and well-stocked retail and trade counter area
- Assisting with stock control, deliveries and goods-in
- Supporting the wider retail and sales team to ensure smooth daily operations
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in retail sales, trade counter sales, hardware, tools or builders' merchants
- Customer-focused with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, organised and comfortable working in a busy retail environment
- Willingness to learn and develop product knowledge in power tools and hardware
- Basic computer skills (email, stock systems, Word, Excel)
