SUMMARY OF ROLE:
Reporting to the Associate Director - Surveying, the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of projects. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
These include but are not limited to:
- Assist the Senior Commercial Team in ensuring successful delivery of all project's commercial aspects
- Lead the procurement activities on the project including preparing tender documents for issue, completing tender analysis, subcontractor/supplier selection, and order placement
- Manage appointed subcontractor/suppliers from appointment through to Final Account Agreement including assessment of monthly applications for payment and variation assessment in accordance with the company SOPs
- Monitoring of contra charges and notification to sub-contractors
- Ensure commercial compliance in line with the main contract conditions for the project
- Identify and notify any variations as they arise on the project including preparation of detailed substantiation, ensuring entitlements are maintained and protected throughout the project
- Assist in preparing accurate monthly and final account applications for the project
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with project teams to ensure the smooth completion of projects
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and cost overruns on projects
- Liaise with design teams and the internal project team to advise on any commercial impact of discussions throughout the project
- Mentor and oversee junior members of the commercial team
- Assist the pre-construction team in the delivery of tenders on occasion
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, etc.
- Cost monitoring and reporting to the senior commercial team. Attendance at monthly cost reporting meetings from time to time
- Cashflow forecasting for projects and issuing monthly reports to the senior commercial team
- Planning and performing other duties and projects as assigned
- Ad-hoc reporting/requests when required by direct line manager
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
A successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- A Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying essential
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience in a similar role with a main contractor / subcontractor essential

- Excellent IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook. Working knowledge of either Buildsoft/Cubit/Bluebeam required

- Strong communication skills (both written and oral) with an ability to build excellent working relationships with a wide range of people
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Chartered member of the RICS, SCSI, CIOB or have a desire to achieve this accreditation
- Strong attention to detail and excellent measurement knowledge
