Act as the primary point of contact for health and safety on site.
Lead the implementation of the site H&S strategy in line with corporate objectives and legal requirements.
Champion a culture of accountability, safety ownership, and continuous improvement across all levels of the workforce.
Provide coaching and mentorship to safety officers, supervisors, and line managers.
Ensure site compliance with local, national, and international health & safety regulations.
Develop, maintain, and enforce safety policies, SOPs, and permit-to-work systems.
Conduct risk assessments (chemical, ergonomic, mechanical, fire, etc.) and ensure mitigation measures are implemented and reviewed.
Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring thorough root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Oversee daily H&S activities across production, warehousing, utilities, and maintenance areas.
Monitor and enforce PPE standards, machine guarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and confined space entry procedures.
Drive safe systems of work and behavioural safety initiatives.
Ensure contractor safety management and site induction processes are robust.
Lead internal safety audits and prepare the site for regulatory and corporate inspections.
Track and report H&S performance indicators (TRIR, LTIs, near misses, compliance metrics).
Present regular updates to site leadership on progress, risks, and improvement actions.
Deliver and coordinate safety training programs (manual handling, chemical safety, first aid, fire safety, emergency response).
Promote employee engagement in safety committees, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement projects.
Develop communication campaigns to raise awareness of health & safety issues.
Maintain site emergency response plans (fire, chemical spill, evacuation).
Lead emergency drills, liaising with local authorities as required.
Act as an incident commander or key responder during critical situations.
Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 5-8 years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing or industrial.
