Morgan McKinley is partnering with a leading international healthcare organization to recruit a Financial Reporting Accountant for their growing Galway operations.
About the Company
Our client is a global innovator in healthcare and medical devices. Their Galway site operates as a hub for Global Business Services, delivering finance, procurement, quality, technical, and customer support across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Role Overview
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Global Business Services team. This role will support the finance function by preparing monthly and annual financial reports, managing general ledger activities, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will help maintain compliance, enhance efficiency, and support the continuous development of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyse monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Execute month-end journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Perform intercompany reconciliations, coordinating with finance teams across multiple regions.

Manage multi-currency bank reconciliations and assist with variance and cost analyses.

Provide financial insights and data to management and other departments.

Support transitions of general ledger functions within the Shared Service Centre (SSC).

Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and compliance reviews.

Contribute to the development and adherence of financial policies and internal controls.

Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency gains.
Skills & Experience
-
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

Up to 5 years' experience in finance or accounting, ideally in shared services or multinational settings.

Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is advantageous.

Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) preferred.

Fluency in a European language is a plus.
