Are you a motivated IT professional with a "get-stuck-in" attitude? We are partnering with a leading, globally recognized pharmaceutical provider in the Galway area to find a dynamic IT Support Technician. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you will immediately impact an active IT ecosystem, starting with a major hardware lifecycle project before transitioning into day-to-day desktop and network support.
Reporting to the IT Operations Supervisor, this role is perfect for someone looking to sharpen their skills in a robust enterprise environment.
Hardware Rollout & Lifecycle Management: Spearhead the deployment and configuration of 40 new printers and 70 mobile/tablet devices.
Lease & Asset Management: Assist with a major Dell lease screening project and prepare legacy laptop hardware for successful return.
General IT Support: Transition into daily Level 1/Level 2 helpdesk operations, troubleshooting end-user workstations, software, and hardware to meet strict service levels.
OS Deployment: Perform clean reinstalls and configurations of Windows Operating Systems.
Network & Infrastructure Support: Assist in monitoring and maintaining local network infrastructure (LAN/VLAN/WAN).
Experience: 1 to 5 years of experience in a similar IT helpdesk or technical support environment.
Technical Know-How: Strong knowledge of the Windows environment, enterprise hardware, and mobile device configuration.
Networking Fundamentals: A solid grasp of core networking concepts including IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, VLAN, and WAN.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional troubleshooting techniques with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
A relevant IT qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
Manual Handling: Due to the hardware rollout nature of the role, valid Manual Handling training/certification is required.
Ability to work fully onsite in the Galway region.
