Morgan McKinley is excited to be working with a leading tech company in County Galway that is gearing up for significant growth and expansion in 2026. They are seeking an experienced Financial Controller with a strong background in manufacturing on an initial 6-month contract to support a critical transitional phase.
This role is ideal for a hands-on finance professional who can lead financial operations, drive system implementations, and provide strategic insight to support the company's growth phase.
Please note this is a fast-moving process, with interviews scheduled before Christmas and a planned start in January.
Responsibilities include:
Establishing and maintaining financial policies, controls and accounting procedures
Implementing systems to track and value inventory, manage bills of materials (BOMs), and monitor direct labour costs accurately
Overseeing day-to-day accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
Managing month-end and year-end close activities efficiently
Analysing manufacturing variances and supporting cost-optimisation initiatives
Driving process improvements within the finance team to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort
Preparing consolidated financial statements in line with relevant standards
Monitoring cash flow, working capital and treasury operations
Assisting with the selection and implementation of an ERP system integrating finance, supply chain, production, and quality management
Collaborating with IT, operations and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth ERP adoption and data integrity
Developing reporting dashboards and financial analytics within the ERP environment
Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial, tax, and industry regulations
Maintaining audit readiness and liaising with external auditors, tax advisors and regulators
Designing cost accounting and inventory control frameworks suitable for a regulated manufacturing environment
Acting as a trusted partner to the leadership team by providing insights to support operational and investment decisions
Supporting pricing, product costing and margin improvement initiatives
Contributing to business planning, fundraising efforts, and investor reporting
Building and developing a high-performing finance team
