Looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support secure, scalable, cloud-native microservices and enterprise integration solutions. This role will focus on building high-quality Java and Spring Boot services, designing REST APIs, working with enterprise databases, supporting managed file transfer and B2B integration platforms, and delivering reliable software through automated testing, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on engineer who can contribute to detailed technical design, write secure and maintainable code, troubleshoot complex issues, and continuously improve engineering practices. They are comfortable working in modern software delivery environments and have experience building services that are resilient, observable, and ready for enterprise-scale operation. Role In this position, you will: Design, develop, test, and support secure cloud-native microservices using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and related technologies. Build and maintain RESTful APIs that are scalable, resilient, secure, and easy to integrate. Design, develop, and support integrations between cloud-native services and enterprise platforms, including managed file transfer and B2B integration solutions. Contribute to detailed technical design, including class diagrams, sequence diagrams, service flows, and implementation documentation. Develop database-backed services using Oracle and/or PostgreSQL, including data modelling, query design, and performance-aware implementation. Support enterprise managed file transfer platforms and integrations, including IBM Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator, and related technologies. Develop solutions supporting secure file exchange and partner connectivity using protocols and technologies such as SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, certificate management, and encryption. Apply secure coding standards and engineering practices, including awareness of OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT, and vulnerability remediation. Build automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests using test-driven and behaviour-driven development practices.
Use CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins or similar tooling, to support automated build, test, deployment, and release processes. Develop and support containerized services using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies such as AWS and/or Azure. Troubleshoot application, integration, database, managed file transfer, and platform issues across distributed systems. Partner with engineering, platform, security, and operations teams to deliver reliable software solutions. Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve engineering efficiency, quality, and delivery predictability. Contribute to continuous improvement of software development lifecycle practices, engineering standards, and operational readiness. All About You The ideal candidate for this position should: Have expert-level Java programming skills with strong knowledge of secure coding practices. Have deep hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Spring-based microservices, and modern Java application development. Be experienced in designing and developing RESTful interfaces and service integrations. Have strong database design and development experience using Oracle and/or PostgreSQL. Understand secure engineering principles and be familiar with standards such as OWASP, CWE, and SEI CERT. Have hands-on experience with test-driven development and behaviour-driven development practices.
Be comfortable designing, developing, and testing microservices using lightweight containers and frameworks such as Spring Boot. Have practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud technologies, microservice design, CI/CD, Jenkins, and DevOps practices. Have experience integrating applications with enterprise integration, managed file transfer, or B2B communication platforms. Have knowledge of IBM Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator, Sterling Secure Proxy, or similar enterprise managed file transfer technologies. Understand file transfer protocols and technologies including SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, encryption, certificate management, and partner onboarding processes. Be able to create clear technical documentation, including detailed designs, class diagrams, and sequence diagrams. Have experience building automation that improves engineering processes, delivery efficiency, and software quality. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues across application, database, infrastructure, integration, and managed file transfer layers. Be comfortable working in an enterprise engineering environment with secure delivery, operational readiness, and production support expectations. Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively across distributed teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating or supporting large-scale enterprise platforms, including IBM Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator, or other managed file transfer solutions. Experience building highly available, resilient, and observable services. Experience integrating cloud-native services with enterprise managed file transfer and B2B integration platforms.
