Role: Senior Social Media Communications Specialist

About the Role:
A leading global platform in the travel and hospitality industry is seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Social Media Communications Specialist to join its Communications team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and is passionate about brand reputation, community engagement, and effective issue management.
In this role, you will monitor emerging social media issues, manage high-risk communications, and support regional teams with reputational guidance. You'll work closely with teams across Community Support, Trust, Policy, Crisis Management, and more to help shape the public voice and maintain brand integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor emerging issues across social media channels and flag reputational risks
- Draft and publish content across multiple platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on policy, crisis, and community communications
- Support high-risk reactive and proactive communications
- Contribute to the development of playbooks and best practice guidance
- Track and measure the effectiveness of campaigns and communication projects
- Monitor queues and provide workflow guidance
- Assist with urgent posts, escalations, and shift handovers
- Provide performance insights and data analysis for reports and deep dives
- Act as support for the team lead during absences
- Onboard and upskill new team members
- Help shape response strategies and contribute to regional/global initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in social media issues/crisis management
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Experience with social media monitoring tools such as Sprinklr (a plus)
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
