Responsible for monitoring the safety standards in accordance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013
Carry out randomly timed inspections of the site operations on a regular basis and bring to the direct attention of subcontractors as well as the Project Manager any remedial action required.
Commend employees who by their actions or initiative, eliminate or reduce risk level on site.
Ensure through cooperation with the Project Manager, that induction training in Health & Safety is carried out for all levels of staff, electrical contractor and package contractors when they first come on site and that all new staff is made aware of their responsibilities as laid out in this Safety and Health Plan.
Perform Safety Audits of the site to ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Plan and all hazardous situations are recorded and assessed.
Ensure that all statutory inspections are carried out and records maintained in accordance with the Regulations.
Notify Project Management Group EHS Department on site of each visit.
Forward to Project Management Group EHS department any reports generated or submitted in relation to site activities.
Write relevant method statements and risk assessments.
Carry out toolbox talks.
Carry out Training programs as required.
Requirements
Candidates should ideally possess an electrical trade background and a minimum of 10 years' experience working on large-scale projects, with proven exposure to client-facing roles in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and industrial/commercial sectors.
In-depth knowledge of Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Thorough knowledge of ISO: 45001 and ISO: 14001 standards and Experience with ISO-certified management systems.
Confident communicator with the ability to influence site teams and senior stakeholders.
Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing competing priorities across multiple sites.
Passionate about driving a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.
Level 8 qualification in Health and Safety.
Extensive experience in Project HSE Management.
Working towards graduate membership of IOSH.
Ability to deliver internal Health and Safety management courses.
Ability to advise on HSE issues on a day-to-day basis on site.
Ability to conduct standard accident/incident investigations.
