Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Wood Machinery Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various woodworking machines to produce high-quality wooden components and products according to specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor woodworking machines such as saws, planers, jointers, sanders, CNC routers, lathes, and milling machines.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine job specifications.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on wood using rules, templates, or other guides.
- Ensure machines are working at full capacity, are well-maintained, and perform quality checks on output.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Load and unload materials onto machines and transport finished products as needed.
- Adhere to all company and OSHA safety regulations.
- Keep work area clean and organized at all times.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and quality control to ensure production goals and quality standards are met.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in woodworking or machine operation is a plus.
- Proven experience in woodworking or operating industrial woodworking machinery.
- Knowledge of various types of wood and woodworking techniques.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools (e.g., tape measure, calipers).
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CNC wood machinery.
- Forklift certification.
- Basic computer skills for operating CNC software or production tracking systems.
