We are seeking a skilled and proactive Product Assurance Engineer to ensure our products meet stringent customer, regulatory, and industry requirements throughout their entire lifecycle.
Role Overview
As a Product Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining product assurance activities for space-grade electronic equipment. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to ensure compliance with space industry
standards and customer requirements, from design through delivery.
Key responsibilities:
- Define and implement product assurance plans in line with customer and space industry standards (e.g. ECSS, ISO, or equivalent).
- Support design reviews, ensuring quality, reliability, safety, and dependability requirements are addressed.
- Convene, chair, take minutes, and follow up on actions at PA reviews for key project milestones.
- Oversee manufacturing and assembly processes, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and workmanship standards.
- Manage non-conformances, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
- Review and approve documentation, including procedures, inspection plans, test reports, and certificates of conformity.
- Support supplier quality assurance, including audits, assessments, and supplier performance monitoring.
- Participate in and support internal and external audits.
- Perform hardware inspections and complete quality inspection reports.
- Ensure configuration control and traceability of materials, components, and processes.
- Liaise with customers and external stakeholders on all product assurance matters.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality and assurance processes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years' experience in a Product Assurance, Quality, or Reliability role, ideally within the space, aerospace, or high-reliability electronics sector.
- Strong knowledge of space or aerospace standards (e.g. ECSS, ESA requirements, ISO 9001/AS9100).
- Understanding of electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, testing, and inspection processes.
- Experience with non-conformance management, risk assessment, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and test requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with a structured and analytical approach.
- Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
