A leading professional services practice is seeking a Payroll Assistant to join their specialist payroll team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role involves supporting full end‑to‑end payroll delivery for a varied client portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent service standards.
You'll be joining a highly experienced payroll function within a broader tax and advisory environment. The team currently consists of three payroll specialists, and this position will play a key role in managing high‑volume client payrolls and maintaining strong internal controls.
This is a hybrid role, with an initial expectation of 3-4 days onsite, moving to 2-4 days once fully trained and settled.
Assisting with full‑cycle payroll processing across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly client payrolls.
Preparing reconciliations and ensuring all Revenue submissions are completed accurately and on schedule.
Responding to client payroll queries and supporting strong client relationships.
Uploading net pay files across multiple banking platforms and ensuring timely payment processing.
Maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting internal controls and compliance standards.
Supporting the payroll team with reporting, audits, and ad‑hoc administrative tasks.
Previous experience in a payroll role, ideally within a practice or bureau environment.
IPASS qualification preferred, though strong technical payroll experience will also be considered.
Solid understanding of PAYE, PRSI, USC, BIK, ROS, and payroll legislation.
Strong Excel skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new payroll systems.
Highly organised, able to manage multiple deadlines, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication skills and confidence in dealing with clients.
Ability to work onsite several days per week as part of the hybrid model.
