Acting as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders (legal representatives, repair networks, loss adjusters) to mitigate lifecycle delays and control leakage, particularly concerning third-party hire and storage costs.
-
Assessing policy coverage and determining fault through thorough preliminary desktop reviews.
-
Driving equitable and professional settlement discussions with all relevant parties.
-
Managing a dedicated portfolio of auto files from inception through to successful closure.
-
Promptly escalating complex matters or shifting risk profiles to senior management to ensure appropriate handling.
-
Maintaining accurate reserving and adhering to strict quality audits and internal service level agreements (SLAs).
-
Supporting management with ad-hoc operational tasks as the department evolves.
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Experience: At least 24 months of proven experience managing auto/motor damage files.
-
Qualifications: You hold a minimum of an APA qualification (or Grandfathered equivalent) and are ideally working toward your full CIP.
-
Technical Knowledge: A solid grasp of liability frameworks, regulatory compliance (including the Consumer Protection Code), general motor legislation, and core underwriting principles.
-
Skillset: Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, paired with a strong aptitude for negotiation and commercial decision-making.
