Our client is seeking a professional and personable Medical Receptionist to join their team. This is a front-line role, providing the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The successful candidate will ensure a welcoming environment, manage administrative duties efficiently, and support the smooth running of a busy practice in Dublin West.
Greeting patients, visitors and healthcare professionals in a friendly and professional manner.
Managing telephone calls, scheduling appointments and handling enquiries promptly.
Registering new patients and updating patient records accurately in the practice management system.
Processing referrals, prescriptions and medical documentation in line with practice protocols.
Taking payments and managing billing where required.
Liaising with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and communication.
Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to GDPR/data protection policies.
Supporting general administrative tasks, including filing, scanning and correspondence.
Previous experience in a medical or healthcare reception/admin role is desirable but not essential.
Strong organisational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency with IT systems (experience with medical practice software an advantage - Socrates
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
A caring and professional approach when dealing with patients.
