Looking for a Platform Engineer to help build, automate, and operate the platforms that power critical applications and services. This role will focus on cloud infrastructure, platform automation, enterprise managed file transfer platforms, CI/CD enablement, and operational excellence across modern distributed systems. The ideal candidate is passionate about cloud-native technologies, infrastructure as code, managed file transfer solutions, and improving the developer experience through automation. They are a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building reliable systems, and driving continuous improvement across the software delivery lifecycle.
Role In this position, you will: Build, deploy, and support cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS and/or Azure environments. Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and configuration management tools. Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps. Deploy, manage, and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes. Build, operate, and support enterprise Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms, including IBM Sterling File Gateway, Sterling B2B Integrator, Connect:Direct, and related secure file transfer services. Develop automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and developer productivity. Develop and maintain automation for partner onboarding, certificate management, file routing, and secure file exchange workflows. Implement monitoring, logging, and observability capabilities to ensure platform reliability. Partner with software engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions. Support secure B2B connectivity using SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, TLS, encryption, and certificate based authentication technologies. Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, platform, managed file transfer, and application issues. Support vulnerability remediation, platform upgrades, and operational readiness activities. Contribute to platform engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. All About You The ideal candidate for this position should: Possess strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud technologies. Have expertise with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments. Demonstrate experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar technologies. Have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. Be proficient in Linux administration and shell scripting. Have practical experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar configuration management tools. Possess hands-on experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG), Sterling B2B Integrator (SBI), Connect:Direct, or similar enterprise Managed File Transfer platforms. Have practical experience supporting secure file transfer solutions and B2B partner integrations. Demonstrate knowledge of file transfer protocols including SFTP, FTPS, AS2, HTTPS, TLS, PGP encryption, digital certificates, and key management. Possess experience with monitoring, observability, and operational tooling. Have a solid understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud networking concepts. Demonstrate knowledge of secure engineering practices and vulnerability remediation. Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in distributed systems environments. Be comfortable troubleshooting file routing, transmission failures, partner connectivity issues, and production operational incidents. Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment supporting highly available production platforms. Possess strong communication and collaboration skills and be able to work effectively across engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with IBM Sterling Secure Proxy.
