Our client, a growing global player in the aircraft leasing industry, is seeking a highly motivated junior Legal Counsel to join its dynamic legal team based it its Dublin city centre office 5 days per week.
Reporting directly to the SVP Legal and working alongside senior leadership, this role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of complex international aviation transactions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and management of the internal Legal Department and take ownership of legal workstreams related to aircraft operating leases, acquisitions, and disposals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with cross-functional internal deal teams to advise on, structure, draft, and negotiate a broad range of aviation-related contracts, including aircraft purchase, lease, and sale agreements.
- Lead negotiations with airlines, OEMs, third-party service providers, and other lessors.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of transaction documentation in accordance with company standards and legal best practices.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee legal costs related to aviation transactions.
- Provide support across internal legal matters, including corporate governance and compliance.
- Work closely with the risk function to assist on contentious matters such as litigation, repossession, and bankruptcy proceedings.
Candidate Profile:
- NQ-3 years' post-qualification experience in a transactional legal role, ideally with direct exposure to aircraft leasing (either in-house or with an international law firm) or other legal banking/financial work experience.
- Qualified lawyer with an internationally recognised legal qualification and strong academic credentials.
- Strong understanding of legal issues relating to aircraft financing, operating leases, sales, acquisitions, novations, and asset recovery.
- Commercially minded, solutions-oriented, and able to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; willing and able to travel internationally at short notice.
