Morgan McKinley has partnered with a leading public sector body as they look to hire an ICT Security & Networks Administrator. This client is responsible for managing complex national financial and investment operations. They provide a range of essential asset and liability management services to the Irish Government and operate across several strategic areas, including investment, risk management, infrastructure, and finance.
The Role
As ICT Security & Networks Administrator, you'll join a highly skilled ICT team supporting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and services across a hybrid network environment.
Reporting to the Head of ICT Security & Networks, you'll play a key role in configuring, monitoring, and maintaining secure network infrastructure both on-premises and in the cloud. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to work on enterprise-level security technologies and contribute to safeguarding critical national systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, and access management.
- Evaluate and strengthen the security of new systems, applications, and cloud services.
- Monitor and analyse network activity, identifying anomalies and potential threats.
- Participate in vulnerability assessments, remediation, and incident response.
- Maintain and improve the organisation's network and security infrastructure.
- Support continuous improvement through proactive monitoring and adherence to best practices and frameworks (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
- About You
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years' experience in network security administration within a medium-sized or larger organisation.
- Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, VPN, DMZ, and DNS technologies.
- Proven experience with security tools such as Fortinet, Checkpoint, and CISCO.
- Working knowledge of cloud networking and security (Azure preferred).
- Experience with SIEM/NDR tools, vulnerability management, and identity/access management.
- Familiarity with PKI, web/email content filtering, and intrusion prevention systems.
Desirable Certifications
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, Checkpoint CCSA, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE
- Microsoft Security, Network, or Cloud certifications
- Degree in Computing, Engineering, or a related field
