Role Overview:
Morgan McKinley has partnered with a consultancy firm who are looking for an experienced and strategically minded Business Development Professional to lead the growth of their professional services and consultancy solutions across key sectors such as healthcare, construction, and utilities. The role is suited for a highly credible professional with a strong track record in selling complex, high-value services to public or private sector organisations. You will play a central role in expanding market presence, cultivating executive-level relationships, and positioning the firm's solutions as drivers of operational excellence and transformational change. The ideal candidate will bring a well-developed network, sector insight, and the ability to operate with influence at the highest levels of client organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executive Relationship Development: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers across target sectors.
- Strategic Opportunity Identification: Leverage industry knowledge and client insights to identify high-value opportunities for service delivery and business growth.
- Client Engagement: Lead strategic client meetings, provide consultative sales expertise, and shape solutions that address complex business and operational challenges.
- Sales Strategy Leadership: Develop and execute sales strategies that align with company growth targets, ensuring a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Market & Sector Intelligence: Monitor trends, regulatory changes, and emerging needs in healthcare, construction, and utilities to inform business development efforts.
- Thought Leadership & Brand Positioning: Represent the organisation through authored content, speaking engagements, and client-facing materials that highlight our expertise.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Senior-level experience in business development, sales, or account management, with a focus on professional services or consultancy solutions.
- Demonstrable success in winning and managing complex engagements with senior stakeholders in large public or private sector organisations.
- A relevant network and working knowledge of at least one of the following sectors: healthcare (e.g., HSE, NHS), construction, or utilities.
- Proven ability to engage at C-suite or board level and influence decision-making in complex environments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong strategic mindset and a consultative, solutions-driven approach.
- Ability and willingness to travel across Ireland and the UK.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in creating and publishing thought leadership content (articles, white papers, case studies).
- Understanding of change management or transformation methodologies such as commitment-based management.
- Familiarity with public procurement and tendering processes in regulated sectors.
- A strategic understanding of the principles and philosophies that underpin high-performing organisations, including collaborative leadership, continuous improvement, and change management.
