Director of Depositary Services
Dublin | Senior Leadership Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Depositary professional to join a leading international financial services organisation. This is a senior leadership role offering the chance to drive the growth and development of a well-established Depositary function while playing a key role in governance, client relationship management, regulatory engagement, and business development.
The successful candidate will take ownership of Depositary operations in Dublin, oversee key client relationships, contribute to strategic growth initiatives, and act as a senior representative with regulators and industry stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all Depositary relationships in Dublin.
- Lead and develop the existing client portfolio while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Act as a key contact with the Central Bank of Ireland and fulfil designated person responsibilities for the day-to-day governance of the Dublin operation.
- Ensure the delivery of a high-quality Depositary service to clients across a range of alternative investment structures.
- Develop, implement, and continuously enhance Depositary procedures, controls, and operating frameworks.
- Oversee the ongoing development and optimisation of Depositary systems, collaborating with international teams to ensure consistency across jurisdictions.
- Support business development initiatives through client meetings, proposal preparation, budgeting, and presentations.
- Represent the business within the wider industry through thought leadership activities, conference participation, and industry events.
- Monitor and escalate material risks and issues arising from fund activity to senior management and the Board where appropriate.
What you need:
- Professionally qualified (ACCA, ACA, CGI/ICSA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 10 years' experience within fund administration and Depositary services.
- Strong expertise in alternative investment structures, including private equity, real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, and private debt funds.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of Depositary operations, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience interacting with the Central Bank of Ireland and a strong understanding of Irish regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and contribute to business growth initiatives.
- Strong commercial awareness, leadership capability, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
