Background
Our client is a leading financial services organisation providing innovative finance solutions to Irish customers. They are about to embark on an ambitious, complex business transformation programme building the innovative products and seamless operational capabilities that will define our client's future. To ensure success on this journey, they have established a Transformation Management Office (TMO) as the execution engine for all their strategic delivery.
Job Description
Within the transformation management office the role of the Process Business Analyst is critical as the detailed discovery and specification engine for the transformation. This role will lead the conversion of high-level business outcomes into detailed process flows, user stories, and business requirements that are unambiguous for technical delivery teams. Deployed to specific transformation workstreams or product initiatives via a prioritised backlog the role holder will have a dotted line to the relevant Product Owner for the duration of the assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct workshops with SMEs, dealers, and customers to map as-is and to-be E2E processes for specific products or initiatives.
- Identify pain points, hand-off failures, regulatory touchpoints, and efficiency gaps within journeys.
- Translate Product Owners' outcome-oriented goals into detailed business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Maintain a clear requirements traceability matrix, linking each item back to a strategic objective.
- Support impact assessment of requirements, draft appropriate workarounds and guide business on system functionality.
- Review and guide business on test approach, coverage and execution approaches.
- Act as the bridge between Product Owners (business) and Technology/Change teams, ensuring a shared understanding of what "done" looks like for our future state.
- Prototype wireframes or mock-ups to visualise solutions and validate with users with a focus on ensuring both business and IT understand each topic.
- Actively involved in UAT, often coordinating testing activities, clarifying functional queries, and obtaining sign-off from business users to ensure the solution meets their needs before deployment.
- Performing walkthroughs and testing of implemented controls (e.g., access controls, financial reporting checks) to evaluate their effectiveness and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Business Benefit Articulation: Support business in defining and articulating business benefits. Work with the Data Analyst to size the efficiency or experience impact of process changes (e.g., time saved, error reduction).
- Reporting & Presentation: Preparing reports, interactive dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management and non-financial stakeholders (knowledge of hypercare best practices a bonus).
Key Skills
- Expert in process mapping (BPMN 2.0), requirements management tools (Jira, ADO), and workshop facilitation.
- Exceptional problem-deconstruction skills and ability to interpret data, diagnose complex problems, and propose logical, effective compliant solutions. Meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are necessary to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical teams and influence decisionmaking.
- Must have or quickly develop a strong understanding of financial services operations, regulatory constraints (FCA, GDPR), and customer dynamics.
