Associate Director of Sourcing (6 Month Contract)
We are seeking an experienced and strategic sourcing leader to join our Commercial Supply Chain team as Associate Director of Sourcing on a 6 month contract. This role plays a critical part in shaping and executing sourcing strategies across key direct material categories, supporting the delivery of a resilient, compliant, and competitive supply chain.
About the Role
As Associate Director of Sourcing, you will be responsible for developing and leading sourcing strategies for Drug Substance, Drug Product, and Packaging CMO categories. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align market intelligence with business priorities, drive supplier selection, and deliver value-led sourcing outcomes.
This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence across a complex matrix environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category sourcing strategies for direct materials, including Drug Substance, Drug Product, and Packaging CMOs
- Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives from strategy development through supplier selection and contracting
- Apply market intelligence and supplier insights to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate risk
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Legal, Finance, Quality, Technical Operations, and EHSS teams
- Drive value creation through cost, risk, sustainability, and supply resilience initiatives
- Ensure sourcing activities meet regulatory, quality, compliance, and ethical standards
- Support the development of a robust, sustainable, and competitive supply base
About You
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, ideally within pharmaceuticals, biotech, or life sciences
- Strong background in direct materials and CMO sourcing
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects in a matrix organisation
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and negotiation capabilities
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, contract-based environment
