Associate Director - Advisory Marketing
Note: It is critical for the candidate to come from a professional services, marketing advisory or consulting background and have a strong understanding of advisory.
This is a senior marketing role responsible for leading marketing activity for a professional services advisory division. Working closely with senior business leaders, you will translate commercial priorities into focused go-to-market activity that strengthens market positioning, supports business development and contributes to pipeline and revenue growth.
You will shape how the Advisory division is positioned in the market across integrated campaigns, thought leadership, strategic pursuits and client engagement.
The role requires strong commercial judgement, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to connect business growth priorities with clear, measurable marketing plans.
You will work closely with regional and service-line marketing leadership, business development colleagues and the wider marketing team to ensure activity is effectively planned, prioritised and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary marketing partner to senior Advisory leaders.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, maintaining regular engagement around business priorities, pipeline, sector activity and growth opportunities.
- Translate business priorities into clear marketing briefs, campaign plans and activation requirements.
- Lead go-to-market planning, aligning campaigns, sector priorities, strategic pursuits and client engagement activity with commercial opportunities.
- Own the delivery of Advisory marketing activity within the agreed marketing plan, including sector-specific campaigns where there is an active pipeline or clear market opportunity.
- Develop and adapt content, thought leadership, credentials, case studies and other materials that demonstrate the division's expertise and client impact.
- Localise global campaigns and initiatives for the relevant market, ensuring activity reflects local priorities, market conditions and client needs.
- Deliver responsive marketing activity where triggered by business opportunities, market developments, regulatory changes or strategic pursuits.
- Develop sales enablement materials including credentials presentations, playbooks, case studies and capability documents.
- Work closely with business development and pursuit teams to provide tailored marketing support for priority opportunities.
- Advise senior leadership on market positioning, competitive differentiation, sector opportunities and marketing investment priorities.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen market profile through thought leadership, external positioning, flagship events and strategic partnerships.
- Partner with senior business leaders on priority pursuits, major accounts and strategic growth initiatives.
- Coordinate with the wider marketing team to ensure consistent execution across events, content, digital, social media, paid media and direct client engagement.
- Track campaign delivery and performance and contribute to regular marketing reporting.
Experience & Profile
- Bachelor's degree required; a postgraduate qualification in marketing or business would be advantageous.
- 10+ years' experience in B2B marketing, ideally with direct experience marketing advisory, consulting or other professional services.
- Experience within professional services, financial services, consulting or another complex and/or regulated environment.
- Significant experience working with senior partner- and director-level stakeholders, including involvement in business development, campaigns and pipeline discussions.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience connecting marketing activity to pipeline, strategic accounts and revenue priorities.
- Proven ability to translate business priorities into marketing strategies and activity that support growth.
- Experience leading integrated go-to-market programmes across campaigns, thought leadership, strategic pursuits and client engagement.
- Excellent writing, briefing and messaging skills, with the ability to translate complex services and business priorities into clear market-facing communications.
- Familiarity with marketing technology, including CRM and marketing automation platforms.
- Ability to work across multiple markets and adapt marketing activity to local business requirements.
