    Excellent opportunity for a seasoned Accounts Receivable/ Credit Control professional with a leading IRL and UK Distribution name based in the Dublin 12/ 24 area.

    Reporting to the Finance Director, this role is central to the accounts receivable and collections function and serves as a key connection point with senior stakeholders across the business. The position offers autonomy over allocated ledgers, alongside the opportunity to support the day-to-day activities of junior team members.

    You will be responsible for supporting robust cash flow management, delivering debtors reporting, reconciliations etc. The role will also involve contributing to continuous improvement within the accounts receivable function, ensuring procedures and controls are adhered to while identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and enhance customer service across the AR cycle.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Manage the debtor ledger to support the timely collection of outstanding balances, carrying out regular customer follow-ups, resolving queries, and escalating overdue accounts where required.
    • Maintain accurate customer contact details and clear records of communications, building effective working relationships to support prompt payment and issue resolution.
    • Set up new customer accounts in line with internal credit control procedures, completing ongoing credit checks and supporting credit limit reviews as needed.
    • Ensure customer accounts are properly maintained and reconciled, with balances accurately reflecting outstanding items.
    • Perform regular reconciliations between the accounts receivable sub-ledger and the general ledger, investigating and resolving discrepancies with appropriate supporting documentation.
    • Prepare weekly and monthly accounts receivable reporting, including aged debt analysis, collections activity, and debtor risk reporting.
    • Identify debtor risks and support actions to improve cash flow and reduce overdue balances.
    • Work closely with internal teams and the wider finance function to resolve account, invoice, and payment-related queries.
    • Support internal and external audits relating to accounts receivable and assist with ad-hoc finance projects as required.
    • Contribute to improvements in accounts receivable processes, helping to reduce manual work and improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Support month-end accounts receivable close activities to ensure reporting is delivered on time, accurately, and with appropriate analysis.

    Education/ Skills/ Experience Required:

    • Minimum of 4-6 years relevant accounts receivable and collections experience within a medium to large organisation.
    • Membership of the CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) a distinct advantage.
    • Experience in daily cash allocation, accurately matching customer receipts to invoices and resolving unmatched payments
    • Strong background in reconciling the accounts receivable ledgers, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Ability to adapt in a changing environment
    • Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, proactive nature, ability to work to own initiative
